This weekend’s service of worship is yet again one more “festive” Sunday: in this case the Sunday immediately following the Feast of the Epiphany (a.k.a. January 6th). Traditionally, this Sunday reflects the fact that while we “western” Christians (heirs of the Latin Christian tradition) honour the Epiphany by remembering the Magi, “eastern” Christians (heirs of the Greek Christian tradition) honour the Epiphany by remembering Christ’s baptism. And so here we are, on the First Sunday after Epiphany, formally known as: Baptism of the Lord Sunday...which, not entirely coincidentally, makes it an ideal opportunity for Rev. Foster to continue his walk through the Apostle’s Creed.
