Part Five: Humble Pie

OUR GUEST PREACHER Phyllis Thompson, and husband Claud, retired to Nanaimo after nearly thirty years teaching at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon.  Phyllis is a lay Benedictine, and has experience giving retreats and workshops on Benedictine spirituality and Benedict’s Rule.  She also has facilitated Quiet Days, Advent and Lent, at Trinity United and other churches on the Island.  She and Foster have coordinated the Lenten Film Series the last two years.  Knox United (during Foster’s tenure as pastor) and St. Edmund’s Anglican, both in Parksville, occasionally have invited her to preach.  Phyllis and Claud are members of St. Philip’s Anglican Church in Lantzville.
